Is 1 hour 25 mins layover time enough at Chicago O’Hare?

The time between flights is only 1 hour and 25 minutes which worries me somewhat bearing in mind I will have to pass through the stringent immigration procedure and then find my way to the on-going flight.

It normally takes an hour to get through customs. I think you’ll be fine.

I hate long lay-overs….
And man, have I seen my share of them.
Even in the First Class / Business Class lounges, you eventually grow bored of free booze and internet, whilst slouched in chairs with wooden sides….
I’m sure they do it so you don’t sleep too.

You will have to run but you can do it! Think of it as a marathon. O’Hare is a wild ride.

You should be fine. If you don’t make it for some reason, caught up in customs or your flight was late, then the airline shouldn’t have a problem fitting you in to a later flight.

If you’ve ever flown you know how to grab your bags and make time getting from point A to point B. 1.5 hours should be enough unless the incoming is delayed, and immigration/customs should go swimmingly if your papers are in order and your bags don’t contain anything illicit.

O’Hare is a large airport! You will be able to do it, but MUST make all the right moves. When you get off the plane, you will be in Terminal 5. Once you head through immigration, you will claim your baggage and head to customs. Once you clear customs, you will need to take the monorail to you next terminal. Their you will either check your baggage first (if you have any), then proceed through the security checkpoint. At O’Hare, there lines can be long! Then RUN to your gate and check the flight. In experience, I have missed may flights trying to connect in O’Hare. I would recommend changing the connecting flight just because your arrival flight could come in late and customs could become a line and a half!

Remember you have to go from F Terminal (Which is seperated from B Terminal ) This will take you time to get on the train and make the trip over .
I don’t think 1 Hour 25 Minutes is going to be enough time , as you said Customs is going to hold you up the most . Try calling Reservations and see if they can move your Dallas Flight to a later time. Be better safe then sorry . I know most flights Domestic close there doors 20 minutes prior to departure . So you can now say you only have about 1 Hour 5 Minutes .

Is it United? That’s a valid connection published by the airline, and they have two more flights to DFW after that. I would go for it. What you can do is when you check in, ask the agent to put a priority handling tag on your luggage because you have a tight connection. You can run fast but if your bags don’t come out, there’s nothing you can do.
