I am going to go to veracruz mexico (VER) flying out of Chicago’s ohare(ORD). i want to know where i can get the cheapest flight with the least amount of stops. i want to go like the last week in February til the first week in march. my dates are going to be very flexible according to price. also my 4 year old son is going too. so help me out folks. thanks

   get on expedia .com and look for some flights there.

   There never are any real bargains flying into Veracruz city. Continental usually has the best prices to Mexico City. You have to go through Mexico City and change planes there to fly on to Veracruz. Be sue you have a letter of permission for your baby to travel. See site below and read the paragraph on minors under “Entry Requirements.” Good luck on the tickets…but I know they are not cheap.
   Edit: As for taking a bus from mexico City to Veracrua…i have done that…to Coatepec, Ver. and it is 5 and a half hrs..then 2 more hrs to Veracruz City. Going to Cancun is really way out of the way. With the baby with you, I think you may just as well look for the best choice from Mexico City to Veracruz. the flight is a bit over $100.00 last I knew and the bus is about $30.00 to Veracruz from Mexico City.

   I agree with Continental, I live in Puebla Mexico, and you can get cheap flights from almost anywhere in US through continental. Honestly I would fly O’Hare to Mexico City, and either take a bus (dirt cheap, but about 3 ride), or connect from there. When connecting look for mexican airlines like Volaris. Another cheap flight is to cancun, then you could go from cancun to veracruz. If you want to go cheap you’ll have to look for different cominations

   If you are a student or have a .edu address you can get student tickets. The flights are limited but they are cheap. If not there, I agree with others - continental.

   There are continental flights from Houston to Veracruz, maybe it’ll be easier for you to fly from Chicago to Houston, Tx and then take a flight to Veracruz.

   Hmmm… I live in Veracruz and I can tell you right now there is nothing that great to see here. You should at least try Cancun or something like that.
