Can I buy an air ticket and send it overseas?
Discount flightsJohn asked:
Can I buy an air ticket in the UK and send it overseas to someone else, for a flight from ABC to London, returning to ABC? It’s cheaper that way.

No as the above poster said - airlines have strict rules regarding this to prevent you from potentially taking advantage of exchange rates or better deal.

The above to people answered the question from the airlines point of view.. which is they dont like people doing that because they can take advantage of exchange rates.
However people do it all the time and get away with it.
As a travel agent, people will order tickets from me overseas and we fed-ex them to them. And in this day and age of etickets you really dont even have to send the ticket anywhere.

No. They won’t issue the ticket here for a flight departing from the UK.

Yes. My mum just got me and my 2 boys tickets to come for a holiday back home. She got them at a the flight center. If they need a visa they will need to do something about that, because normally when you get a ticket they will do it for you at the travel shop. I just called the flight center with our passport info and they did it for me. Make sure you buy it in there name.
